Carter & Osborne Electrical working together with Hansen Yuncken provided a complete electrical solution to the new University of Newcastle Innovation Building.
The innovation building (also known as building Q) is the first building of seven to be built in the new UON Honeysuckle Precinct.
Carter & Osborne completed the design and electrical installation of major precinct infrastructure including power, lighting, communications, security, CCTV, Solar and Energy Management Systems. The new Building Q is one of only a handful of multi-story buildings in Australia to be constructed predominantly out of mass timber and has been classified as a 6-star Greenstar Building, this bought considerable challenges to the electrical installation and as such has become part of a feature of the building.
